When I read the book I thought it was lame too. The writing was poor, the story was slow. Overall I wasn't impressed. I dont even think I'm gonna go see the movie. Why bother?

I read the books with a red pen, handed them back to the friend I borrowed them from (she okay-ed me writing in them!) with several other books and "Here's some better smut for you."

I thought Dakota Johnson was a fabulous actress though.

Judging from the trailers, it looks like it might be good. Have you watched it?

I haven't found a reliable source to back my speculation, but I should imagine the producers were having a hard time finding a real ape large enough to play the roll. ;) Avatar was ALL CGI but was done spectacularly, at least in my opinion. Was it the quality of the graphics that were lacking, or did you not even watch Tarzan BECAUSE the graphics were computer generated?

I watched it. You know how Tarzan swings on vines? They CGI 'd that, high above the trees, which makes you wonder where the vines came from.

Gotcha. I guess it's the price we have to pay for mindless entertainment. Sometimes you have to suspend critical thinking in order to be able to enjoy the rest of the movie. Mountains floated in Avatar, go figure. Just the same, how was the story/plot line?

There is a Korean Church of Asgard in Spider-man: Homecoming. Good that they're finally acknowledging that Thor showing up save the world from an alien army led by Loki would convert a fuckton of people.
