"Beauty in no way is essential to our survival and like the idea of God, not relevant."

Wow! How could you have gotten those two ideas mixed up together?

But what is the point of HUMAN life, now that we have attained HUMAN statis (whatever that means), without perks such as beauty?

"Lovin the sunsets and getting off on random patterns found in soap bubbles whether I need them or not."

...and surviving nicely for now.

beauty is essential (or was) to human life. if you are ugly you will be genetically selected against and therefor fail to further your blood line.

Unless you live in the South. Then it's just a matter of alcohol.

well now a days, it seems that anyone can breed. we are no longer weeding the weak and stupid out of human kind. in fact smart people are being out bread by morons it would seem. i think it is a little fucked up that the blond girl in that well known "miss teen usa" video where she says "like, the iraq" is still more likely to breed than i am.

And even "beauty" can be bought in this day and age. think about the nose job of a daughter of a woman that had to have a nose job who was the daughter of a woman who had to have a nose job. In several generations we will all be super ugly naturally and have to have extensive surgical enhancements just to be able to fuck each other.

The assumption here of course is that all mating is "voluntary". I hate to sound like the rapist here, but in the survivalist sense that I love so dearly someone who is ugly but has the physical prowess to exert his mating upon another has a better chance than Mr. Pretty. The attractive female is much more likely to have people having sex with her yes, but in the end most guys will stick it in just about anything. Let's not even consider the foul choices hormone driven males make from time to time. I suppose in defense of your point mq, attractiveness doesn't impair your ability to reproduce.

What we all need to focus on (like a broken record) is bringing natural selection back into practice. I think that the intelligent few could understand unnatural selection.

Not mixed up at all. What would a christian say about the purest form of beauty? It's god of course.

The truth is, there is no point to human life. We all kick around and make a big stink about nothing, most of us never realizing that we are not here for some greater or higher purpose. We just are. Instead of getting fur and claws and big teeth, we got reason. We are still just animals, just our tools are a little more effective. Human status is the exact same without beauty. In fact I'm willing to bet that the idea of beauty will markedly shift again in the next twenty years. With beauty being so subjective, no true "beauty" exists.

All universal moral principles are idle fancies.
