I'm 27 and Live in NYC, and there is no country music radio, bar, clubs...Nothing. and for the most part pretty much given up on listining to it. But I still love my country music.

It's what brings me back to my roots.

We have no less than 7 country stations in the area, however some of them are so weak you have to drive 30 miles to hear them. 96.3 KSCS is run by ABC. 96.7 The Twister is new. 99.5 The Wolf I think is Infinity. I don't think Clear Channel runs a country station in D/FW. Then there's a couple tiny stations, 93.7, 95.3, 95.7, and 95.9 The Ranch. You have to be in Fort Worth to get any of those decently.

I'm not much for country music, aside from Johnny and Willie, but Hank 3 fucking rules. Prolly won't see him on CMT anytime soon, and you'll have more luck hearing him on college radio than your normal country stations, I'd imagine. I'd give a dollar to see him live.

subject: Dwight Yoakam
Hey look, a post in Country ;).

Since no one will read this for a month anyway, I'm going to make this board my bitch for awhile.

My girlfriend of a year introduced me to Dwight's music. At the time, I thought she was high. I still do, sometimes, but for the most part, she's got similar tastes to mine, and we enjoy doing a lot of the same things. I don't get Babylon 5, though, of which she's a devoted fan.

Dwight, however, is a pretty amazing country musician. He's got a voice that most country singers can't match. It's not the voice of God, like Johnny Cash, nor is it as weathered as Willie Nelson. I'm sure it's similar to someone, but my limited knowledge of the genre means I can't draw a comparison. He can yodel, which serves him better than I can express.

Like Willie and Johnny, and even Hank Sr., Dwight can express emotion very poignantly (sp), and that's where his strength lies. Songs like It Only Hurts When I Cry, Ain't That Lonely Yet, and Thousand Miles From Nowhere exemplify this.

So that's my treatise on Dwight. More or less.

Dwight is such a bastard. I hate everything about him. He is a stuck up little bitch who sounds like a seagull is biting and grinding his balls while he sings such favorates as crazy little thing called cum and gayballs, fagattacks.

Thanks to him I got pestered with the assumption because my name was "Dwight" I liked being called Dwight Yoakam. What a fucked up last name, Yoakam. Fuck that and fuck him. im sorry but i cant agree with you comparing him to anybody. what a terrable waste of blood and guts.

So the song Suspicious Minds, as done by Dwight Yoakam, really just fucking rules. Honestly though, Dwight Yoakam's music gets in my head unlike anything in a long time. It's a fucking fantastic rendition.

Do you sit around singing songs of other people's glory!? I'll tell you what I will do. Give me a hundred men, and I will free Ireland!"-- from "A Day and a Night", by Eric Ferguson
