Hey look, a post in Country ;).
Since no one will read this for a month anyway, I'm going to make this board my bitch for awhile.
My girlfriend of a year introduced me to Dwight's music. At the time, I thought she was high. I still do, sometimes, but for the most part, she's got similar tastes to mine, and we enjoy doing a lot of the same things. I don't get Babylon 5, though, of which she's a devoted fan.
Dwight, however, is a pretty amazing country musician. He's got a voice that most country singers can't match. It's not the voice of God, like Johnny Cash, nor is it as weathered as Willie Nelson. I'm sure it's similar to someone, but my limited knowledge of the genre means I can't draw a comparison. He can yodel, which serves him better than I can express.
Like Willie and Johnny, and even Hank Sr., Dwight can express emotion very poignantly (sp), and that's where his strength lies. Songs like It Only Hurts When I Cry, Ain't That Lonely Yet, and Thousand Miles From Nowhere exemplify this.
So that's my treatise on Dwight. More or less.
