subject: The best news I have gotten for awhile!
I just checked my grades, and all 'B's except one C+. I am totally stoked. I would have gotten an A in calculus if I actually studied for the final and finished it (I only did half of it, I had my bio final right after, still got a 51%) The 'C' was in chem where I missed the first two weeks of homework. Whoohoo! All the late nights of study and sacrifice paid off.

I feel much better now.

I'll be in NY/CT from 4th of July. Maybe even VT. I booked a month instead of planned 3 months bc I want to keep my job in light of hesitations and differences just. in. case. Instant death or metamorphosis. No more of this cocoon maybe maybe. Wooooo now I can get out of this RUT.

I still haven't quit my job. I don't know what is Right anymore.....such a risk to quit, but not taking a risk is a risk in itself, yes?
The ticket is booked & paid. They said they'd give me the month off 'for health reasons' only if i'd come back, otherwise they can only afford to give me 2 weeks off. Unpaid leave at that. Sigh

That was the trip... Ehh...

The resort was ok (very shallow beach, super seaweedy, and not near anything). The service was HORRIBLE (the place was NOT crowded, and we still had to wait forever for drinks, food, etc. And usually got eye-rolls, not smiles). The food was pretty bad (except the day they served Jamaican, that was good, got 3 helpings of Curry Goat, mmmm).

The room was nice. Very clean. But, they said we got an upgraded room, didn't seem like it.

We did have a good time for the first few days. We did alot of swimming, sunbathing, some snorkling, kayaking, etc. We went and climbed Dunns River Falls (SUPER FUN). And our taxi driver took us to a local place for AMAZING jerk cicken and jerk pork. Soooo good. But, the last 2 days (my birthday included) I got into a fight with my companion, and there was a lot of tension with me and her the rest of the trip. We got along, but you could feel it in the air.

Still, we both had fun. Not sure I'd do Jamaica again, and if I do, it would be Negril (not Runaway bay/Ocho Rios). But yeah, so that was that... Atleast I was away from NYC and work for 6 days...

Glad to hear you enjoyed most of it. I may venture to the island someday, but probably not where you stayed.

I've been to Antigua at Grande Sandals. Beautiful place, excellent food, lots of activities and everyone was happy to be there, even the staff. I'd go back again, and probably not drink so much rum. :D What do you say to an unlimited supply of rum and coke?

Expect Nothing.

I phoned a friend to help with car for the cost of breakfast. Learned shit. Car got to mechanic in 1 piece to get a free part & labour.
Found a book for half price thrift. Bills paid. So grateful. I wish I could smash out more days like this.

Thats what *I* wanted to do... But thats not how an all inclusive place works. They make a buffet, and you're supposed to be happy with what they serve. This is why I don't like all inclusive, I'd much rather be out with the locals, eating what they eat. But, in order to avoid a fight with the GF, I did it her way, and got the all inclusive spot.

Funny thing is, she didn't like the food either. And actually enjoyed the 3 times we went off resort, and ate the local food. Which is what I tried to tell her from day one...

Not a whopping lot, it seems. Still working, still housemates with Elsewhere. I asked him, and he indicated he didn't have much to tell.

He spent the day exploring San Francisco. Spent time at the Cable Car Museum, and a mechanical entertainments museum that had old mechanical games from the early 20th century and the late 19th. Also Pier 39 (and sea lions) and Fisherman's Wharf.

A pretty full day. He's heading out on a bus in about 70 minutes from right now.

I just scored a Wii, two Guitar Hero guitars, 4 wiimotes, 2 nunchucks, 2 gamepads, a balance board, and a fistful of games. From work. For free.

They've been sitting in a corner for 18 months. One of our administrative ladies sent an email saying that they needed to be claimed by the owner by the end of the day or they're going to Goodwill. I pinged her asking if I could snipe them if nobody spoke up. Nobody did.
