no ... she was my neighbors cat. New baby came along and the cat got locked out. I was over there one night and found out. She clung to the house, hiding under the steps, hoping to sneak in. Heard her outside today and gave in, went over and told them I would take her in. It's bloody freezing outside, am surprised she didn't get frost bite. I didn't realize they weren't feeding her either ....

You should call the ASPCA and have them charged with animal cruelty. That's neglect of the absolute worst kind. I'd ask them how they feel about locking their kid out like that, and just let that roll around in their tiny little brains for a bit.

Or I could just make a little road trip and leave a couple of bodies in a town I won't visit for a while.

Thank you for taking the cat in. Stupid people.

Yes, you could contact the ASPCA- this does constitute neglect, however I believe they would know it was you, and therefore may try to seek retribution.

Make sure when you get a chance to take her to the vet (I realize money's probably tight for you- you can contact the local shelters and see if they have any programs to help). Just to make sure she is healthy and hasn't gotten and of the nasty diseases just as Feline Leukemia, FIV, etc etc. They're not transferrable to people, but it's good to know to keep other cats out of harms way.

This may be good for you in the long run, hopefully you and the cat get along. Oh and if the cat still has front claws get her a scratching post ASAP, and show her where it is or your furniture will pay.

Thank me for what? Doing something that is natural to me? Other than a few hamsters when I was younger, all of my pets have been strays or unwanted animals. And they would know it was me if the SPCA were called. There's only around 200 people where I live, if that.

Things are going good. She's very timid, a hider. She had gotten into the hollow space inside of the bathtub, stayed there for a few hours until I lured her out with food. The access is now blocked with screens. She's spending more time out now, and coming over for attention. Lunacy and Boots avoid each other for the most part, with some hissing and growling.

Will be getting her to the vet and a scratching post as soon as I can afford it. So far she hasn't felt the need to sharpen her claws, but they're very sharp right now.

She's so very scrawny right now, I can't wait 'til she fills out. Very leggy, might be a big cat. And she's a lap cat.

There is something off about her left front leg ... her shin seems slightly crooked, and she walks somewhat stiffly with it. It doesn't bother her, so I'll ask when I take her to the vet.

Aww, what a gorgeous kitty. You're awesome for taking her in.

We had a cat left behind in our complex a few months ago, abandoned by someone who moved out. It was clear nobody was coming back for him, I asked everywhere :( I don't know what kind of heartless POS could ever do that and they better not cross my path, ever.

So I took him to the ASPCA and they put him up for adoption, he even was on their website as a featured pet :D

Am glad your cat arrived safely. I'm really missing my cat (I gave the cat I took in to a friend). Still don't know how or when I will get her here. Flying her here is an option I'm considering, but would have to coordinate a time when my ex could get to the city and my pilot friend qould be doing the flight she would be on. I feel most comfortable with that, as then I would know she was being checked on and such. I know a doctor whose dog died on a flight, and that has made me paranoid about flying with animals in the cargo hold.

Am debating on taking in a kitten from Gyl, but I know it would piss Lunacy off. She likes being the only cat, not too friendly with other cats, especially since she is almost 9 years old and kittens/young cats are always playful and bug her. There's this really cute brown and grey tabby...

There's also the issue of finding a place to rent when the majority of places state no pets (thinking in the future as my lease is for a year). Not used to that. In Ontario landlords can't not allow pets as they are family.
