aye. Even if it isn't true, if Trig is her child, this speaks to her poor judgement. Either way it is a poor reflection of her decision making capacity. So what is everyone's prediction of the result?

60% Democrat
40% Republican

subject: Republican Convention
Not that I am the least bit surprised, but it is still really amusing to see a sea of old, white people, falling asleep during the speeches. Very much a contrast of last weeks convention in Denver.

I'm less amused by what their apparant strategy is. Blame the last 8 years on the Democratic Congressional majority (which has only been in place 2 years) and refer to themselves as "McCain Republicans", as in, "Not Bush Republicans", even though its obviously the same damn thing.

I could give a shit less about Palin's daughter, for the record. If I were her boyfriend, she'd be pregnant too. She's hot, wealthy, and powerful. Smart fucker.

I was saying during the DNC that this year totally going to be another 1984, with the parties reversed. McCain's Hail Mary pick of Palin solidified that opinion, as she's even worse suited for the job than Geraldine Ferraro ever was.

I'm too lazy to dig for it right now, but George Bush also challenged John McCains patriotism in 2000, basically calling him a traitor, when they were both competing for the nomination.

It's the primaries, and they all want to win. This is the same argument that Hillary, Bill, and now John and Skankitron have and are using against Obama. It's really the only one they have, and so far the American people have shown they don't really care. Yes, he's inexperienced. That doesn't mean he's automatically going to suck, just like having experience doesn't mean you're necessarily going to be any good. People identify with his message and share a lot of his goals for the country, and that's much more important.

I didn't say that other parties had obstained from the same behavior, and I didn't say anything other than "its interesting", just throwing it out there to be digested because no one else had.

I am predicting Obama will win. Possibly by a landslide. McCain's choice of a female running mate may influence some of the swing vote to reduce that margin, but i doubt it will be enough to make it any sort of a contest. America is too anti-establishment, and McCain hasn't effectively separated himself enough from the current administration to avoid the effects.

Why do I get the feeling that so many of you all get so touchy when I am paddling against the general WTF stream?

I am curious just what this WTF stream is. I think the WTF stream is more of a lagoon, or a tailings pond or some such.

I don't think that there is a question that Obama will win, it is just by what margin. I don't think Palin will have that much of an effect on the vote to be honest. Hillary was a strong woman with experience. She was a known name and it was seen that she had good decision making skills. Well good when it comes to politics. Palin is an unknown, and she isn't all that attractive, politically speaking of course, to the common person. She has shown that she doesn't pay her speech writers enough, she has poor decision making skills. Would choose to: A) talk with Iran to see if they come to a peaceful solution to a potentially devastating situation? b). Nuke those motherfuckers!

More and more I read, and hear, the more this looks like a sacrificial republican ticket. There hasn't been nearly the buzz around the Republicans as there is about the Democrats. The Democrats seem to be focusing on vision and policy, on the bright future. The Republicans seem to be satisfied with a smear campaign. If I was American, I know where my vote would be going...

Twatwaffle, I am still giggling about it.

Have either of you met the goddamned American electorate?

They still think McCain is pro-choice, for fuck's sake. They're stupid, and the McCain campaign knows that full well. Obama is speaking to people as though they're adults, and I don't think that'll work as well as one might assume.

Right. Sorry. Canadian here. My bad.

I suppose we would also be considered part of the 'Intellectual Elite' as well. Ie, those who don't think that Fox/CNN/MSNBC are honest, unbiased news sources. Honestly though, they're not that bad are they? They do realize that they are choosing the government for the most powerful nation in existence, right? That their decision, will shape their country and the world?

Okay, I am filled with cake, disgust, and morbid fascination.

I actually welcome people bringing arguments against Obama and the Democrats. I just don't like seeing the nonsense, lies, and fear tactics used by the other side being spread about. The reason you haven't seen us (well, I guess I can only speak for myself actually) bring those points up is because we're avoiding them, on purpose. I am tired of ignoring things that matter for things that make headlines, and I'm just not playing anymore.

Having said that, I agree that Obama has many flaws, as does every politcian. But in my opinion, Obama wins every policy debate, except the ones where he starts acquiescing (sp) to McCain's point of view in order to try and win some undecided voters. For fuck's sake, I wish somebody would stand up and be proud to be "liberal". It's not a fucking curse word.

I wouldn't say liberal per say, I would say less conservative. I agree though, there is nothing wrong with being a liberal, or being liberal. Being labelled a liberal is equivalent to being called a baby killing Nazi. Oy!

This should be fun though. Obama says: "Healthcare is a good thing, a healthy workforce is a productive workforce." McCain replies : "I fucked your mother! She is a whore! Do you really want a son of a whore in office?"

Well, they are that bad. Fox News is much worse then the others, but they are that bad. At least with the other news sources, they at least try not to be so biased. Fox News, however, cannot feasibly be an accident. They weren't always like that, though. Not until sometime in the mid-80's, I think.

I was walking through the Canbo swamp when I came across the creature, one of the walking dead. It paused on whatever mission it's master had set it upon...and just looked at me. In that brief moment when our eyes met, I didn't feel fear, revulsion, or hate. Just pity. For when I gazed into it's eyes, I saw that this creature knew what it was and, worse yet, what it once had been.
