congratulations
Farewell to you, President George W. Bush. Know that the title in front of your name is out of respect and deference, both of which you barely deserve. I have to hand it to you, over the last few weeks, I have come damn close to feeling sorry for you. The interviews you have given to the press have made it abundantly clear that you were not the one in charge. Unfortunately, you also made it clear that you lost your testicles some time in the early 80s, and doomed the United States to sixteen years of rebuilding what you destroyed in your eight years. Shame on you for your handling of 9/11 after the first few days. Shame on you for throwing us into a ground war in the middle east. Shame on you for claiming to protect the financial interests of the American population, and then plunging our national debt into the double-digit trillions. Shame on you for squandering the global good will we earned under President Clinton. Shame on you for even threatening to dismantle the rights given to all people, male or female, white or black or asian or hispanic or any other race, just to further the interests of your party. I can thank you for only one thing: thank you for not completely destroying this country during your time in office, I know you really tried.
President Obama, I offer you my and our congratulations as the 44th President of the United States. Some have called you a socialist, a marxist, a traitor, anti-American, and the man who will doom our country. These attacks will only rise as time goes on, no matter how well you do as President. I, on the other hand, am proud again to say that I am from the United States, with you as President. May you enjoy eight years of even handed governing of this important nation, and may you lead us out of this quagmire we are trapped in. From what we've seen out of your transition, and the level of transparency it provided, I do think we're in for a period of prosperity unlike any we've seen. I can only hope we don't have to reach the lows of the early 1930s to be able to bounce to the height I am hoping for.
Vice President Biden, I can only hope you can keep your and your wife's mouth shut long enough to use the part of your brain that I really enjoy seeing. Do the right things, and the number 45 is in your future.
