manifesto
we believe in conversations, not content. in communities, not audiences. in people who give a shit, not metrics that measure engagement.
no algorithms
you decide what you want to see. no ai determining what's "relevant" to you. no infinite scroll designed to keep you here longer than you intended. no manipulation disguised as personalization.
no advertising
your attention isn't a product. your data isn't for sale. we're not here to harvest your eyeballs for advertisers or package your behavior for the highest bidder. this place exists for its own sake.
no venture capital
we don't answer to investors demanding exponential growth. there's no exit strategy, no ipo, no acquisition target. we're not building to sell. we're just here, doing this thing, the way we think it should be done.
actual people
real voices, real humans having real conversations behind unreal usernames. no bots inflating numbers. no corporate accounts pretending to be your friend. no influencers performing authenticity for metrics. just people talking to people.
moderation, not censorship
free speech doesn't mean consequence-free speech. we believe in communities setting their own standards. you can say fuck, you can disagree, you can be provocative. but harassment, hatred, and bad faith bullshit get shown the door.
old school, new problems
we're built on ideas from the early internet — when communities formed organically, when moderators were volunteers who cared, when people came to forums because they wanted to, not because an algorithm decided they should. but we're not stuck in 1999. we learn, we adapt, we fix what's broken.
what we're not
we're not trying to replace twitter, or facebook, or reddit, or whatever comes next. we're not trying to be the next big thing. we're not trying to scale to a billion users.
we're a small place for people who want something different. something slower. something that respects your time and your intelligence. a place that exists because it should, not because it's profitable.
if you're still here after reading all this, welcome. you're probably our kind of people.
